Baby Waldie

Hey everyone, just another quick update from my appt. yesterday. Dr. Davey checked me and said I was 1cm dilated and the baby was dropping. He re-assured me that the baby isn't huge (a guess) and we had a nice chat about my crippling fear of forceps! We get to go and see him on Monday and if all is still well...we'll schedule an induction. I pick Will up in Calgary TOMORROW and I hate to say I'm more exited to see him than I am about the baby. I'm also excited at the possibility of us getting to be together for a few days at least. We'll keep you posted with info as it happens :)

Quick Update

Just a quick update for those who are curious as to the status of baby Waldie. I saw Dr. Davey today for my 37 week check-up. All is good. The blood pressure is normal...1 lbs weight gain...tested for strep...filled out the hospital registration forms. I'm booked to go again on Wednesday. He will check me on that visit and deliver the induction verdict. Keep your fingers crossed that he will be kind. Will flies in next Saturday and we want this baby to arrive while he is here...so keep us on your positive thoughts list please! Will has been really sick, but is getting over it, so we also hope he's completely recovered before he gets here! Feel better soon Will....we MISS YOU!!!!!!!!

Wonderful Will

I know all you girls out there THINK you're married to the best guy in the world, but I'm here to tell you, sorry...you're wrong. Although there may be many great guys out there, I would like to state that I found the best. Since I have been back in Canada for a whole two weeks now, I've come to realize that my husband is more than just a hansome face, but is sweet, kind, patient, funny, etc, etc, too. What other husband would be so kind to a wife who is 9 months pregnant and regularly sobs incoherently on the phone to him? He does other amazing things, but if I started to list them, you'd be reading for weeks. So I'll just say again, he's the best and leave it at that. The end. :)

Blog Slacker

I have no exciting pictures to post or witty things to say, but I have been harassed for not posting updates on my blog...so here it is folks.

I made the trek back to Canada last Saturday. Man, the preggo hormones really are strong as I had a break down at security saying good bye to Will and then continued to cry all the way to my gate. Good thing the air port was fairly empty! I was super happy to see my parents in Calgary though, and also relieved to see no snow on the ground as I was landing.

I went to my first real doctor's visit in 3 months last Monday. Good news: Baby Waldie is healthy and has a strong 'boy' heartbeat, I've only gained 21 pounds in 35 weeks, and everything seems to be progressing smoothly. Bad news: My blood pressure was a little high (although it may have something to do with me spending my morning on the phone trying to talk to a human being in Missouri to sort out the results of my glucose test...they sent them to a Dr. in Kansas!!!). I also got a vague answer to the induction question...which boils down to...he didn't say yes...he didn't say no. He's going to wait until right before to make a decision....but I remain optomistic. In the mean time, I'll be walking, juming on trampolines, and drinking that raspberry tea to get things moving so that this baby appears while Will is in Canada.

I spent 4 days at Lindsay's last week and had fun being there for Halloween! I'll have to post a picture later. Ashlyn and I compared bellies a lot, but I think mine is bigger!

Will has been keeping busy (or so he tells me) studying and playing sports. The big toe issue came to a head last night as I got to witness, via Skype, the removal and funeral of the toe nail. I can't believe how much I miss him, but keep reminding myself that we chose this and it will all be over soon!

So....I am now 36 weeks pregnant. I might as well be 59. In a matter of 4 days, I stopped sleeping, can't lay comfortably in ANY postion longer than 7 minutes, developed 3 strech marks, and generally feel like I might explode at any moment. The only reason that I don't pray every night to go into labour is that I want to wait for my parent's house to be finished and for Will to get here. The bag is getting packed tomorrow. It's not all bad though, and I think there is a purpose for feeling so crappy close to the end....the fear of labour diminishes!

There you have it. I'll try and drudge up some pictures and post them soon. :)

Cat lover!

It has been pouring cats and dogs here in St. Louis all week long! We even had some flash flood warnings yesterday morning. Today was sunny and nice, so we decided to go back to the zoo. It's funny because we were out without coats and loving it. I saw a lady with a toque on and another with a full on parka. I thought it was pretty funny. We didn't stay super long...I get tired more easily these days. We did manage to spend some time with the family members of my favourite species...THE CAT! Here are some highlights!

"Baby" tiger...he doesn't look so little to me! Maybe the guy who broke into the Calgary Zoo thought he could take on the tigers, but I think I'll view mine from a safe distance thank you very much! (By the way....seriously...what an idiot. Google it if you didn't hear about it.)

Umm...this guy was trying to mate with her. She was not too into it. I can't say that I blame her...he was biting her!

This guy reminded me of my Toby Cat. I think this is what Toby thinks he really looks like...the ferocious beast that he is!

Here I am...one day shy of 33 weeks prego. Will wanted me to growl like a tiger. This was my sad attempt. As an aside...people are rude! One lady pointed at me and said loudly, "Do you think she's having twins?". I don't think I look quite THAT big thanks. I also get a lot of concerned, "When are you due?!?...I hope soon". Again...thanks...I think you look ridiculously fat too :)

My hot, HOT, HOT husband! He's sporting a very nice beard these days and I'm loving his new sunglasses!

Nesting

Since I don't have a job I started a bunch of projects to work on down here. Many have asked me to post...so here you go.

Crochet baby blanket...finally finished!

Crochet baby blanket...in progress.

A fabric store down here was having a great sale, so I went a little nuts. Some of these are finished and some are in progress. Thanks Abby for the tutorial for rag edge receiving blankets!!!

In progress...

In progress...

Was in progress for the picture...but is now finished.
Finished:)

Finished:)

My friends down here get together and craft once a week. We actually just use it as an excuse to chat and eat junk! My friend Tiffany always has the cutest ideas! These are the beginnings for some hair bows that I'm making for our little boy! Kidding...get ready nieces because I have a love for all things girly and I don't want our little guy to suffer because of it. I'll post the finished product when they're done.

The Toe

Will has been playing football with some guys in his class...'The Eyewins' I think they call themselves. This past Tuesday, I came to pick him up...only to discover he was limping. Apparently, he let his toe nail get too long...he made a sudden stop in his cleats and somehow this is the result. Viewer discretion advised...

It looks even worse now, but he wasn't home to take an update picture. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on his toe nail status as it progresses. He was quite devestated when I informed him that it was for sure going to turn black and fall off. Now he's a little obsessed with it.

The great toe update:

This is Will's toe last Monday...I made him let me take these. I promise that he doesn't have nasty feet...it's just the toe nail is lifting. Again, veiwer discretion.

This is Will's toe about 3 hours later after playing volleyball. It's back to white!!! Although, the nail is still loose and gross.
